When people host their first Podcast Party, they are tempted to use the Expert-Dispensing-Knowledge-From-The-Stage format that we know from webinars and in-person conferences. However, we have found that the most successful Podcast Parties focus not just on the quality of the information, but also on the interaction between guests.
In fact, we routinely produce fantastic events that feature no expert advice at all. Instead, the presentations at these events are collections of content submitted by the guests themselves.
For example, we produce a virtual networking event for artists and entertainers. When the guests register, they are invited to share a video that showcases their latest project. We compile excerpts from the best of these videos into short montages. When we show these montages during the event, the guests respond enthusiastically. They find it inspiring to see what other artists and entertainers are doing.
If you are hosting a Podcast Party for an audience that is likely to have videos they can share, this type of presentation can work for you. When you schedule your Podcast Party, tell us that you would like to invite guests to submit videos. (Guests can also submit videos after they register using this form.)
A few days before your party, let your Event Producer know which videos to include in the montage. We’ll edit it together for you. Ta-da! You’ve got a fantastic presentation and your guests did all the hard work!
You can also embed the video submissions on a post-event webpage. This gives you a compelling piece of content to send to your guests after the event!
