Many podcasters produce educational shows, so naturally, they want to use virtual events as a platform to educate their audience. We have found that collaborative “Lunch & Learn” events provide far more value than a typical webinar because they not only educate the attendees, but also provide them with an opportunity to network.
A “Lunch & Learn” event has two components: an educational presentation followed by a guided discussion. The presentation usually lasts about 20 minutes — enough time to give the attendees to eat their lunch with their cameras off.
After the presentation has concluded, the event switches to “Conversation Mode,” in which attendees break into small groups and videoconference with one another. The host of the event guides the discussion using text prompts that are based on the presentation. (Here are tips on writing compelling prompts.) These collaborative conversations not only help your listeners build their knowledge; they also foster a sense of community.
Whether you host a podcast about personal finance, craft brewing, career development, or spirituality, “Lunch & Learn” events can help you deliver even more value to your audience. The execution is simple: Record your presentation in advance (we can help), then write discussion prompts (here are some tips). We handle all the rest! To see how it works, schedule a demo with us.
